Letter F Activities
- Download the Letter F Pack and do a letter sort or another activity.
- Tell your child(ren) a funny story. Provide a child friendly definition of the word funny. Share some ideas of things that could be considered funny. Ask them to share a funny story with you.
- Talk about your family when you were 3-5 years old. Show or draw a picture of your family at that time.You can extend the activity and talk with students about how your family has changed over time and show them a current picture of your family. Ask the students to show you a picture of their family or draw a picture of their families. Label the members in their family. Point out similarities and differences in families.
- Create a "These are a Few of My Favorite Things" graph, poster, or book. Include their favorite color, food, activity, person, etc.
- Read your favorite children’s story. Discuss why it is your favorite.
- Have your child(ren) hop like a frog, trot like a fox, swim like a fish, etc.
- Have your child(ren) count forward as high as they can.
- Have your child(ren) sort fruit loops and put on a graphing sheet. See the following website for sorting and graphing sheets.
- Cut construction paper or card stock into fish shapes. Write the word fish on the paper. Ask children to turn over the fish and allow the child to fingerpaint the fish. Make sure you highlight the initial sound of fish and fingerpaint.
- Talk about flags. You can show several different flags representing many different countries. You can have a flag to represent the families in your home or classroom. Allow the children to decorate a flag.
